Tourists to Sapa increase thanks to new highway
Visitors
to Sapa during New Year 2017 is expected to surge thanks to new
motorway Ha Noi - Lao Cai. Since the highway was put into
operation in 2015 the number of tourists to Sapa has increased
considerably, as the train fares went down also saw an increase
of travelers taking
Sapa overnight trains compared to previous years.
According to Sapa authorities, in this occasion, in addition to
arranging accommodation, listing prices of restaurants,
hotels
in Sapa, the districts's administration will also prepare sports
and culture activities at the spots in town.
At the Central square, the district will hold a special cultural
program performed by singers, professional and amateur artists
from the
city of Lao Cai and the members of folk dance teams
from the villages.
Besides, in the old town area of Sapa and the streets around the
stone church, the district will hold a New Year's
Sapa love market
for 2017. Through that visitors will discover characters of the
Red Dzao and H'mong ethnic groups.
At the same time, sports activities like playing chess, football
between Sapa and Lai Chau teams, volleyball tournament between
strong teams in the district will be held at the central stadium
and central square of
Sapa town.
At the Van Hoa garden, Sapa Photography club in collaboration
with the Department of Culture and Information will exhibit 50
artistic photo themed "Land and people of Sapa" including unique
phots. Among these are the pictures of SaPa exhibited in the
first time.
On this occasion, at the
Ham Rong park,
Cat Cat and other
ecotourism spots in Ta Van, Ban Ho,
Ta Phin villages... will
also organize a number of special cultural and sports activities
to serve visitors who to
visit Sapa in the new year.
Regarding the weather conditions, although there have been no
detailed forecast from the Hydrometeorology Forecast Agency, but
according to the weather at the time of the annual New Year, the
weather is usually very favorable for visitors to Sapa: no rain,
no frost, but could have a little snow or ice.
