Lao Cai city to Sapa tourist town has officially been put
into operation.
In order to serve travel needs of local people and especially
international visitors to
Sapa
Vietnam and Lao Cai, shuttle bus service
from centre Lao Cai city to Sapa was launched by Lao Cai
transport join stock company since 22nd July.
This is the first business bus service in the province operating
without state subsidy.
After more than two weeks in operation, the bus from Lao Cai to
Sapa has been warmly welcomed by passengers for the utility,
safety, and price is very reasonable.
However, according to Dang Van Luong, Deputy Director,
Department of Transportation Lao Cai, until now it has appeared
a number of bad people trying to harass the vehicles, drivers
and passengers, badly affecting the overall operation of the
entire route, making it difficult for passengers want to use.
The authorities supposed these activities are from people who
have run the taxi bus service on the
Lao Cai - Sapa route, due
to the loss of customers these guys have used such bad behavior
on the competition, This is an ugly act should be condemned and
need to solve by the public security
The Lao Cai - Sapa route is 37km in distance, vehicle used is 29
seater with the frequency of one trip in every 30 minutes at
peak hours, low hours is every 60 minutes a trip. Working hours
is from 5.10 am to 8.15 pm everyday, fares is 28.000 vnd per
person, aprox 1.3 usd. Fares for routes within Lao Cai city and
Sapa town is 10.000 vnd per person.
The bus start from Lao Cai train station square to Nguyen Hue
street, Coc Leu bridge to Hoang Lien road at Kim Tam junction,
Highway 4d, Ngu Chi Son street - Xuan Vien road, and Thach Son
street, near the Sapa central church and vice versa.
According to Lao Cai authorities, the bus service between Lao Cai and Sapa will contribute to secure traffic safety and
security and solve the problem of "mobile station, bus tout".
